Just because...
February is alreya nearly half over and I haven't posted anything here. Oh well, I have an actual life. :)
One of the things that has been "sandpapering" me for the last couple weeks is all the hype over other places, such as myspace, and xanga,a nd many others. I visit forums and people seem to wnat to invit eoflks to their blogs and sign up for their own.
while some of these other places have other portals and things, they are still essentially blog-sites and I just don't get it. people that wnat to hav emany blogs and think thy can keep up with them? this is not something I guess I can grasp. why not just have one, and use it, so that there is a lack of confusion. (rhetorical)
The other day I was visiting a website/forum and was asked why I don't have a myspace yet. I basicaly said the above and their resonse was that oh- it also does blogs, but it has so much more. so I went and started browsing. Arghgghg I found garbage, more garbage, porn and all kinds of junk that I wouldn't wnat to be asociated with.
Not that blogger/blogspot doesn't ahve that stuff, but it is far and awy less prevelant than the myspace thing which seems to be it's reason for existing. - just my little rant and reminder that I am still alive (besides, didn't wnat February to slip by without a blog-post from RP).

For the most part, Myspace is a hole in the ground. And that's my "cleaned up, polite not to swear on RP's blog" description. ;)
As someone who has a lot of blogs, I had to respond to your question, rhetorical or not. Actually, in a lot of ways, I agree with you. It's frustrating to try and keep up a bunch of different blogs. I've even tried to cut back on the number of blogs I update.
Of course, for me, part of the problem is that I have a lot of friends who have migrated to a lot of different sites (MySpace, Bloop, Blogspot, Typepad, LiveJournal). So I have accounts at a lot of places just so I can keep up with those friends and comment on their blogs. On some of them (like Typepad and MySpace), I don't actually keep a blog (at least not anymore). I just use the account for reading and commenting purposes. On some sites (like Bloop), I have to keep a blog -- or at least post an entry every so often) or my account will get deleted. And of course, there's also the fact that certain people read me in those certain places. So until I get all of my friends to consolidate into one space, I'm stuck with a bunch of accounts and blogs.
Plus, I'll be the first to admit I am a little insane, anyway. So is it surprising I do something insane like try to keep multiple blogs? ;)
I maintain two blogs...the one here on blogger.com, and the myspace.com one.
To be honest, I've done myspace.com due mainly to keeping in contact with a lot of our station listeners and build those "one on one" type relationships that national networks just can't do.
However, I do have to agree that a lot of the ads DO bother me, but I try not to look at them.
I'm rethinking my position, and might just go back to using my blog here at blogger.com exclusively.
*ponders* Yeah, I think I'll just take down that site come to think of it. I'm not going to have a whole lot of time here in the future anyway.
Miss ya RP. Been awhile since we've talked.
